choreographic research
My writing practice draws on the capacity of the nude body to abstract itself and become a poetic element without ever abandoning the concreteness of form and gesture. Nudity is assumed as a statement and as the natural condition of bodies conceived as vital space, a place that in turn becomes cultural, social, and political space. It is also a compositional necessity for the specific choreographic practice I pursue: I emphasize individual parts of the body and elaborate their architectures in a process of constant transformation in space.
I practice the construction and continuous transformation of an inner landscape so that the body can manifest different forms and states of being. Visually and emotionally, the viewer experiences the infinite elements that compose it and, at the same time, is always invited to confront nudity and their own projections—whether emotional, conceptual, or cultural—upon it.
By focusing on the space between bodies, the quality of breath and slowness, the movements of light, the architectural elements of the stage, and the soundscape, I create a surreal landscape in constant motion.
In my research, I place great importance on the concept of ‘collective memory,’ seeking to articulate it through one or more images or actions, allowing it to emerge through a perceptual reconstruction and by activating the observer’s prior memories. I use the stage as a place where multiple levels of reading can potentially coexist, working with several layers of interpretation and meaning.

“Nudity as a human condition, an expression of fragility and strength at the same time. The body as a living space and a vibrant landscape offered to the gaze. A place of choice and action, of being both inhabitant and inhabited. For me, the body is a site of reflection, a cultural mirror as well as a psychological one. I have always created starting from the idea that the act of dance or performance, dealing with the present body, must imply a radical line of thought about it.”
