In spring/summer 2021 Tanz Company Gervasi (based in Vienna) will host
6 workshop-auditions for professional dancers in the beautiful historic center of Barbarano Romano and in the a organic farm (near Rome, Italy).

1 workshop-audition for “Noli Respicere“ (working title) the new production of Tanz Company Gervasi
with the choreographer Luna Cenere, we are looking for 5 Dancers for a project in 2021/2022
with presentations in Austria and Italy.

*Terms & Conditions:

The workshop itself is free.
Travel costs (incl. Covid-19 tests), food expenses, travel organisation and other expenses are not covered.
(These costs on the side of the dancers are their responsibility, also in case of cancellation.)

Additional costs € 350 for Accommodation per person for the whole period:
Single houses with two or three rooms. The rooms host two people, but with separate beds.
The houses are located in the peaceful and charming village and are rustic but very comfortable!
(Fyi: Daily life in Barbarano Romano is very affordable).

Cancellation terms:
If the workshops have to be cancelled on the side of Tanz Comany Gervasi due to Covid-19
accommodation costs will be refunded in full.
Cancellation on the side of the dancer:
In case of official Covid-19 restrictions (illness or travel bans) the accomodation costs
will be refunded in full. Flight schedule changes are not a refund reason.
No refund in case of other cancellations.
In any case, please inform us about any changes as soon as possible.

About the workshop: Luna Cenere

The morning warm up proposes different forms of research based on various dance vocabularies and improvisation methods. Mainly considered as a sharing of different strategies and tools that Luna explores and practices in her daily research in order to access the body language and the movement qualities that is peculiar in her choreographic research. The afternoon research will be focusing on the capacity of the body to abstract itself. The work of the gaze and its relation to body, the movement quality, the observer and observed are the starting point. There is a fascination for the correlation and paradox between inner and outer landscape. Practicing an inner landscape allows one to explore endless possibilities of visible transformation of the body. Over the course of her last works Luna Cenere – especially with her solo „Kokoro“ and the group piece “Zoé”- she developed a personal approach and method of research that keeps observing the body as a landscape. Through practicing an inner space and emptiness Luna makes the performer as such disappear and the gestures of the body emerge. „Noli Respicere“ (working title) will be about working with only naked bodies, architectural elements and lighting to create a surrealistic landscape.
The workshop will end with a public showing on the outdoor stage.
